This extensive, 8-hour course will teach students how to identify and treat injuries/illnesses related to outdoor activities, specifically hunting in North America.  These hunts may take place in environments which have limited resources available such as public safety response, nearby hospitals with surgical capabilities, and minimal immediate medical equipment.

                        - Poisonous plants of North America

                        - Animal bites and stings, native to North America

            - Introduction to wound management

                        - Irrigation & debridement techniques

                        - Closure techniques

                        - Infection control techniques

            - Evacuation considerations

                        -Landing Zone (LZ) preparation
                        -Patient transport via POV

                        -Rally points

                        -EMS/SAR capabilities

            - Field hygiene and preventative medicine
